PRACTICUM TRAINING GUIDELINES

For the students undergoing Practicum for the first time, the experience may either be providential or traumatic. One way or the other, one’s perceptions about the world of work invariably undergo a transformation. Coming face to face with actual working conditions could sometimes throw one off-center. The following PRACTICUM TRAINING GUIDELINES, therefore, intend to lessen the adjustment pressures the students are expected to during the period. By orienting them to the kind of environment they will shortly encounter and the responses expected from them, a framework of reference is devised on which to base their behavior and attitudes during certain situations. In so doing, potential problems will be avoided and their acceptance in the mainstream are easily facilitated. It is equally important for the students to understand that these guidelines are to be followed for the period that they are enrolled in the PRACTICUM subject.

  2. Be cheerful and show enthusiasm when doing your work.

  3. Be tactful and diplomatic in dealing with guests and employees.
